2018/02/26

On February 26, 2018, Foreign Minister Wang Yi met at request with former Assistant to the President for National Security Affairs Stephen John Hadley of the United States (US) in Beijing.

Wang Yi expressed that socialism with Chinese characteristics has entered a new era. China will unswervingly follow the path of peaceful development, and firmly adhere to the opening-up strategy featuring mutual benefit and win-win results. Cooperation between China and the US, the largest developing country and the largest developed country, conforms to the interests of both sides and brings good news to the world. Both sides should strengthen strategic communication, avoid strategic misjudgment and enhance strategic consensus.

Speaking positively of the development of US-China relations, Stephen John Hadley expressed that the bilateral relations are at an important phase, and expected that both sides will further strengthen dialogue, mutual trust and cooperation, so as to promote bilateral relations for new progress. Stephen John Hadley himself is willing to play an active role to this end.
